Bastion is, in my mind, the best split ending I've seen to date. Both give promise of something more and lets your mind play with it. It's just short and sweet enough for it not to overstay it's welcome.

I think that I have to say that the two games that were the most memorable for me were Deus Ex and Fable II.   Dues Ex gave you such a broad range of choices and completely separate game paths that really set in motion some amazing endings.  I must have gone through that game 10-12 times.

Fable was truly a feat in RPGs.  Giving you absolute control over good and evil and how your player would end up in the end.  I really felt that Fable II took that, expanded upon it and gave an amazing outcome.  Though I think that Fable III did miss in some spots, I am looking forward to Fable IV.

Doesn't the first fable one have like two final options? Take mask and put in on or throw mask into lava? Or do you mean before lost tales?

You know I don't remember being able to put the mask on at the end of Fable. Was that some kind of expansion or PC exclusive content (Played it on the Xbox back in the day)?

It has been some time, so I decided to pull them up:

Good:

Bad:

Lost Chapters:

Completely agreed!  I stood there debating on which option to choose for a good ten minutes however. I ultimately choose to "set my sail" and find a new place instead of going back in time.

Played it about 5 times now, once even on camera. Picked Set Sail for the my first choice. It just felt the most appropriate. Really looking forward to Transistor, their next game.

I played it twice. The second on New Game Plus mode.  I ended up picking Setting Sail both times xP  I just couldn't get myself to pick the other!  And I am really excited about Transistor as well!  Definitively seems interesting!

Supergiant Games certainly has a visual and audio aesthetic that they don't deviate from. Normally when you say that it's a bad thing but in their case it seems to work perfectly for them. Something about both games artwork just jives with me and the music in Bastion was amazing. I expect more of the same with Transistor really. I'd say I expect better but Bastion was more or less flawless that I can't think of what I'd want them to improve on. Maybe how the controls work. Oh and make the game longer.

I completely agree.  Bastion just had this charm that really appeased me, and it's one of my favorite games.  I'd imagine Transistor will definitely be great, but I can't help but feel like Bastion will still remain top.  I jsut hope they nail the narrator as well as they did for Batsion.

Going to be the same dude from what they're saying. Can't expect it to go any other way than awesome. I want him to narrate my life.

Ohh really?  In the game play I watched it din;t sound like him, but he;s a very talented voice actor so that explains it!  I'm pumped!

I like the narrator of Bastion, but the actual game gets rather weak towards the end.

How so? I didn't think it changed at all.

Fighting foes became rahter mundane. At least the had the option of gods to spice things up a tiny bit.
