Song I've been listening to probably all day between recording. What's not to like about Mad Scientists?
Ohhh!  This is incredible!  Love this stuff.

That's another one I've been hitting the repeat button on quite a bit. Singing robots make things better.

Apologies for the double post. If you're into Folk Rock/Folf/Low-Fi/Indie Rock music I highly suggest you take a listen to this little number by Eisely.

Glad to hear it! And I can't believe I didn't post these guys. Some of you may already know about The Protomen but if you don't I highly recommend checking them out. A rock opera inspired by Megaman but...dark. It's amazing.

I can't wait for the third CD to come out. They're taunting me with it's epicness.

Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony - Gerudo Valley

Daft Punk ft Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers - Get Lucky (Radio)

Susumu Hirasawa - Sign II

Avicii - Super Mario World Levels

Nostromo - Binary Overdrive

Asian Kung-fu Generation - A Town in Blue

The Pillows - Babylon Tenshi No Uta

I listened to the above seven looped in a VLC playlist while typing up a college report (It was the last all-nighter of the college semester that just ended).

What I listen to tends to not be restricted by genres, but I do favour elegant electronic songs and epic instrumentals. I do notice I can get tired of songs and have to not listen to them for a few months to be able to enjoy them fully again. I don't think I've ever tired of
Forces
as I first heard it in a Flash-based fighting game not knowing the song's name and learned its name years later. The Metal Gear Rising Revengence vocal tracks are something I haven't tired out of yet. My favourites are It Has to Be This Way,
The Only Thing I Know For Real
and
Red Sun
.

Their lyrics are awesome. There is a
fan animation
on YouTube.

It's also on Newgrounds, which is where it originated. The music is pretty epic too.

I've got a new song I've been addicted to right here:

Tekken 6 Soundtrack: Mystical Forest

Not a big Tekken guy at all, but I love how relaxing yet upbeat this song is. Really digging it :P

Of Monsters and Men are probably pretty well known, but in case they've passed people by. They're music videos are amazing, vocals are great and the lyrics are like fairy tales with layers of realism woven in rather well.

Been listening to the Skullgirls OST recently, I got it from their Indiegogo Campaign, and I really dig some of the songs on there. It's nice to have the full OST too, because my favorite songs only play during cinematics in the story mode. Daybreak (Embedding disabled, limit reached) for instance is probably my favorite track in the game.

Something cool is that some tracks were actually composed by Michiru Yamane, the woman who has composed a lot of great game soundtracks over the past 20+ years, more notably stuff like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Rocket Knight Adventures, as well as stuff like Elebits (another game with a pretty nice soundtrack). Her style shows pretty well in the tracks she did for Skullgirls, and they're rather catchy overall. Probably the one with the most Castlevania-inspired sound to it is The Fish Man&;s Dance (Embedding disabled, limit reached)

For comparison, here's some tunes it reminds me of from Symphony of the Night
Dracula&;s Castle (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
Dance of Pales (Embedding disabled, limit reached)
These ones lean more heavily either towards the classical and rock sides of things respectively, but Fish Man's Dance definitely reminds me of her older stuff in a few distinct ways.

So yeah, I dunno, just wanted to share this random musical thought-dump because I've been enjoying my new soundtrack. :P Even if you aren't a fan of Skullgirls, it's got some worthwhile tunes to it, and honestly it's one of the more solid Fighting games I own in terms of mechanics and also awesome obscure references to other fighting games, video games, B movies, etc. Fun stuff. :)

Really hope this comes to the PC. I'm a big fan of 2-D fighters. Played Blazblue and Guilty Gear for so long. This seems even more trippy than those two. Those games also have awesome soundtracks.
