I am no modder by any stretch of the imagination, but in the last live stream the devs mentioned an online multiplayer could be possible by talented modders. I wanted to know how possible it really is or how something like this could be done.

I really hope I didn't say that :) If somehow my mind melted due to sleep deprivation and I did say something like that, it is outright wrong! Sorry to be a downer :(


To add in online multiplayer would require fundamental changes to both the core engine and the game code itself. While we do plan on open sourcing the game engine at some point after release, that alone wouldn't be enough to add online multiplayer - you'd have to have direct access to the game code. Will that happen some day far in the future? Perhaps, but there are a lot of things that could affect that between now and then :)


I will make a post this afternoon in this board about the general workings of how the game can be modded (despite the above, it is quite flexible!)

Ah i see Coby if it can't be done that is alright i look forward to reading that post and if sometime in the future it does become possible great but if not thats perfectly alright local multiplayer is still great.
