I like the sound of Spoil. Very interesting info! Neat to see that certain classes have an affinity for certain elemental powers.

Affinities will most likely show up in the perk tree as bonus damage on shield dash, or similar functions.

Noticed that as well. Does Arcane stand in for non-elemental stuff?

Sounds like the super-element of DDrop. Or it's just magical damage alone.

Spoil does seem to fit more than Sunder does.

Arcane is "non-elemental magical damage" - or doing physical damage through non-physical means. I liken it to Darth Vader choking a guy out with the force. Or dealing a magical blow that does internal damage. Really the reason for creating it was to have a magical-ish damage type that was non-elemental, so that you could do arcane damage to get around elemental resistances.

Just FYI, I decided to create an entirely public Google Drive folder that now contains the file I linked to above. I changed the address in my previous post to match the new file/location. The entire folder is here: https://drive.google.com/a/pixelscopic.com/folderview?id=0B1VTZiRSjNf2WENleEZxOVRZNnc&usp=sharing#

Heavily considering turning "Sunder" into "Spoil" - which is nicely opposite of Surge (life/vegetation), and relates to the poisoning of the planet, spoil swamps, etc.

Sounds alright fine, but wouldn't the element Spoil that clash with The Spoil?
Having an element and and location/phenomenom almost called by the same name is sure to cause confusion.

Could be named after the natural phenomenon?

Still confusing for people the play the game without knowing the lore first.

I actually thought it would be more clear to say that The Spoil (or we could call it The Spoil Swamps or The Spoil Sprawl) is rotting with Spoil elemental poisoning. That would be more clear than saying The Spoil is full of Sunder element.

It's really just me saying that it might confuse people when mentioned in dialogues because the only difference is a "The".  Adding in another word might indeed make it more clear (Sprawl sounds nice).

Spoil Sprawl has a nice ring to it. Personally I don't think it's going to cause too much confusion, if we're introduced to the element, then introduced to the area, most people will probably attribute the state of the toxic swamp to the nature of the toxic element. Sharing the same name would be weird if they had little to do with one another, but being a swamp there's a clear enough connection that people would see it and realize "Oh, this place is full of rot and blech and bad things I don't want to swim around in!"

Would the area itself as it might appear in-game be more navigating patches of dry land and avoiding pools of toxic swamp water, or would you be knee-deep in the swamp for the majority of the area? Just curious how the environment is going to be structured. Oh, while we're at it, might there be devices to cross the poisoned waters like giant lily pads in some of the Legend of Zelda games?

P.S. Hooray 500th post. XD
