Love the lighting you've already got going on the hood! Once you add some cloth folds to the body that's gonna be one sexy robe. At least as sexy as a tarnished cultist robe can get. XD

Doomspeaker, I...
UI / UX Design at Pixelscopic. As for now, the forum stuff hates me and keeps demoting me to Early Access instead of a Pixelscopic team member. Don't worry though—I'm a legitimate employee.

Some progress. It's getting there. Using the Huntsman's shape as a guide. The Face part is starting to come together. I just don't know about the eyes.

(FYI, I'll clean up the shading on the hood soon. I may revert back to a more horizontal approach. What do you guys think?)

Looking good! Like you said, the eyes are a little timid for a cultist but in a way I kind of like that rendition, at least as a work in progress! For the hood, I'd say a couple extra little details (like the Rogue's hood patches or the Gladiator's helmet cracks) and cloth folds here and there (some horizontal folding would probably go a long way, as you said) and you've got yourself a really nice cultist look going on! ;)

Only other thing I'd add, which I'm sure you've got planned out already, is that the colors are a little too soft right now in comparison to the others. Getting some more solid value would really make him pop out and stand well with the rest of em!

Excuse my illiterate artistic comment, but I think he needs to turn up the saturation a bit, and have the different gradients of color a bit of different hues (looks like the shadows are just the same red with more black added in). I guess Baker seems to somewhat use the rules of pixelart for the DDrop-look.

As for the eyes, the shape is right I suppose, but as Quady puts is, they look rather timid, plus red eyes and red hood make it look rather dull. How about giving blue or yellow a spin? They would constrast a lot better (also note that it's more in line with the other Delvers designs).

The uppermost part of the "facewrap" should me more silimar to the original art, because in it's current state, it looks like "taped" to the face as opposed to being wrapped around it.

As a last note, the Cultist is more of an upfront view compared to the other Delvers, which are more top down (good observable by the eyes which are close to headgear and smaller visible space of the "mouthpieces").

In case this all is old news to you, feel free to ignore thise post. ^^

I like the sound of changing the eye color to yellow, I second this suggestion!

Doesn't Baker really dislike the color Yellow?

Green then? Red and green contrast, so his eyes would stand out against his hood. I don't remember color theory too well but hopefully that'd look nice. XD I feel really bad, I'm working to develop skills as an artist myself, but a lot of the deeper details in designing stuff like this are still kinda over my head. Hope my suggestions are helping in some way at least.

Oh you guys are fine. But what I'm referring to with knowing "things" is lore stuff. Green might not be any more feasible than yellow.

I can't say that Ryan hates the color yellow, since the office-favorite class is the Bard.

"First World Insider Problems."

Bard is more orange than yellow though. :P

So, I know this should probably go in the WIP/Official art, but it's actually for another project. Thought you guys would like to see these character sprites I cooked up.
