I am content with Reus.  It's sort of a conflicting design.  The game functions as a score attack/achievement hunt, but also comes across as very laid back most of the time.  So you just sort of do your thing the best you can and hope it works out.

As you continue to play, you can unlock longer play times.  I think my current max is two hours.  And I second the statement about villages that want to build something that does not match your plans, although there is always the option to destroy the village until they build what you want.  No one said your gods have to be both cute and benevolent.

I actually just finished Night of the Rabbit and Machinarium last week. I have to say though, Machinarium was a lot better, both in design and aesthetics. See, Night of the Rabbit seemed to drag on, with a lot of puzzles that made little sense. There were some sound bits missing and the game seemed to get really laggy, by the second half. It did, however, have brilliant voice acting and music, as well as gorgeous visuals. I'll even give it credit for truly making the world feel believable.

Machinarium, however, is downright wonderful, both in gameplay and visuals. What's even more impressive is that Amanita Design is a Czech company, meaning they created a game that worked, no matter your native language. That's design in its purest form.

UI / UX Design at Pixelscopic. As for now, the forum stuff hates me and keeps demoting me to Early Access instead of a Pixelscopic team member. Don't worry though—I'm a legitimate employee.
