Steam Summer Sale
« on: July 11, 2013, 08:03:42 PM »
Steam Summer sale has just started, so I thought we could take this opportunity to add each other, and if people want to share any of their spare steam keys, I suppose it could grow into a begging/gifting thread as well.

My buys this sale:

Scribblenauts
The Night of the Rabbit
Machinarium
Lone Survivor

recommendations:

Don't Starve
Terraria
Limbo
From Dust
Bastion
Antichamber
Cave Story
The Cave
To the Moon

Cards to give away:

Tomb Raider
Torchlight II

UI / UX Design at Pixelscopic. As for now, the forum stuff hates me and keeps demoting me to Early Access instead of a Pixelscopic team member. Don't worry though—I'm a legitimate employee.

I nabbed Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe, The Cave, World of Goo, the Don't Starve soundtrack, and Borderlands 2 so far.

What a rush already XD Can't wait to dive into some of these games!

As far as recommendations go, I wholeheartedly recommend all of these:

Zeno Clash 2 (and 1 if you haven't played it before, though it doesn't seem to be discounted from the Summer Sale)
La-Mulana
Cargo Commander
Noitu Love 2: Devolution
Super House of Dead Ninjas
Tiny & Big: Grandpa's Leftovers

There's plenty more but those are a few of the games I either personally really want to play or already own and love :P

Bought Dark Souls for fifteen bucks a few hours ago just for it to drop to seven....

... gotta love the Summer Sale.

Not the only thing I've bought (or will buy) but my list of games I want/have interest in are actually pretty complete as is.

As always with steam summer sales please...please follow this:

Nothing worse then buyers remorse.

Also Total Biscuit's youtube channel does overviews of the steam sales every day. If you are unsure about whether or not this is a good deal for the game, see what he has to say about it.

More bemused if anything.

Sides, the prices can always go lower if you wait enough. Why wait for the summer sale end when the winter sale will likely lower the prices further, and so forth.

Cos all dem cheap games man!

Also I don't think half of the games that I bought were going to go much lower than 3 dollars for a 10 dollar game, or 10 dollars for a 40 dollar game. That's some really good savings there; as I see it there's no reason to wait for something to go cheaper with deals already that cheap.

X:COM: Enemy Unknown was really the only must buy. Picked up Borderlands 2 for my Artist friend for all the work she's done for me in the past. I think I'm going to go off and ignore it for now...to many games to play and to little time.

Overslept Dark Souls flash sale, waiting for that.

Grabbed the overlord pack (mine is gone due to scratched disks) and FTL for now.

Thinking about Lost Planet 2, Darksiders 2, La-Mulana and maybe Borderlands if I finally find someone to play with.

For those that bought Reus, I'm curious as to your thoughts. Looks like a great game, but I didn't grab it because A) Time and B) Time. Kelly, who is in charge of the Indie Megabooth, has sung its praises to me several times.

My friend plays it and all he's told me is that all the monsters are adorable. I'm taking his word for it and holding it in the game's favor. Adorable monsters are never not a plus.

I bought it before the summer sale. It's a nice little diversion with games going for either a half hour or a bit longer. I like it but I think I'd like it more if it didn't try to be deeper than it is. By that I mean the Synergy boosts that building and growing things alongside one another is really important but just to varied to be approachable in the time they give you to play. The AI of the villagers is also kind of a problem because you'll be working your village as a Tech village and they'll up and decide they want to build a Granary which requires 40 food even though every tile of the city is already occupied. Those are my only real complaints with the game though. I like the art, the giants are well designed and feel/move like they're adorable.
