Steam Winter Sale, IT'S ON!
« on: December 19, 2013, 01:34:59 PM »
I didn't make a thread last time, and I saw someone in chat mention that they missed Dark Souls. I must vindicate my past laziness and create a thread now.

STEAM SALE! Dec 19th - Jan 3rd
http://store.steampowered.com

OH GOD!

I will be taking screenshots of the dailies. (Unless I'm busy. Still don't know what I'll be up to this season.) So if you come here late, you can check to see what you've missed.
I actually will not be able to completely keep up with this, because holidays. You're on your own.

Edit: I'm back! Trying to fix what I missed from being offline.

Brilliant video there XD DON'T BUY UNTIL IT'S DAILY!

Technically doesn't count since I bought it before the sale started, but I got Savant: Ascend for myself as well as for a friend. Very short game, but quite fun and decently challenging. Great arcadey gameplay, so it's very easy to pick up, put down and pick up again, and they plan on expanding it with some more levels and other content in the future, so I'm looking forward to see how it develops.

I'm keeping an eyeball glued to Metal Gear Rising... Like literally, right now, one eye is just attached to my computer screen centered on Metal Gear Rising. That is one deal I'm gonna strongly consider jumping on if I get any spending money for Christmas. Overgrowth as well, since I've been following their dev journal for a while, and I'm really interested to see what Lugaru's sequel is shaping up to be like.

Ack, I feel like this is to me when I look at my wish list. : P

Eldritch for $7.49? Eryi's Action for $2.49? Paranautical Activity at 69% off!?

They're all fairly new if not early access, are they really going to go any lower?

Yep, I gave in.

Loot : Savant - Ascent, Eryi's Action, Paranautical Activity, and Eldritch.
Total damage so far, about $14.

Ding dang dong it all! What would waiting have saved me, a buck? Plus, these are sweet looking indie games, I have the money and I enjoy supporting devs. : 3

The DON'T BUY UNLESS DAILY/FLASH thing kind of bugs me. Sure, if you're on the fence on a game wait but if you don't mind paying (possibly) a bit more for a game you have interest in what's the big deal? Especially if the game is already 2.50 or lower.

Well, everyone has their own budget and interests, not knocking that, just the whole HAHA YOU IDIOT YOU SHOULD HAVE WAITED.

A bit of a moot point in my case since my wishlist is small, but I am waiting to see if Guacamelee and a few other games that haven't released in the past two months hit a flash/daily (IE games that are realistic to hope for some good deals on). Might pick some spare copies of gems like Volgarr the Viking to gift to friends who have it on their wishlists as well.

Saw Shelter in the flash sale, realized it was from the same guys who did Pid and considering how much I enjoyed that quirky little platformer, I wanted to see what they came up with next. Very interesting premise, no doubt. I'm looking forward to see how the game plays and how you progress. If I play it extensively over the next day or so I'll chime back in on here and tell you guys if I recommend it.

Bit the bullet and grabbed Metal Gear: Revengerance, got a lot of the Borderlands 2 DLC and picked up Tiny Thief on a whim. Hoping X:COM Enemy Within goes on sale more than it is, will probably pick it up if it does. Also picked up Borderlands GOTY and Nuclear Throne. So quite the haul. Probably the end of said haul as well.

Valdis Story Abyssal City is on a daily! I grabbed it off the daily and have really been enjoying it. I highly advise picking it up. It was worth $8.99 IMO, and I think it's DEFINITELY worth $3.47.

Picked up X:Com-Enemy Within at half off, doubt it'll go lower but with my luck it probably will now.

@Vacant- Glad you're enjoying Valdis Story! I honestly couldn't get past the controls.

Is it because of the down for skill cancel? You can rebind that now. I strangely like it a lot. I've tried a few times to bind it to RB or LB, and it just doesn't flow as nicely. I could probably get used to it, but... shrug.

Although, I'm playing with a 360 controller using the analog stick to move. So it's more of a twitch the stick down while walking forward. No idea how it would be on a keyboard.
