YouTubers & Twitch Streamers to Follow
« on: March 04, 2015, 11:14:58 PM »
I'm kind of on a Dark Souls kick, but I don't want to limit this thread. Who should I follow on YouTube? I know some of the big names, but I've never been really into the YouTube/stream community, so let's pretend I'm ignorant.

For Example:
I really like Nintendo Capri Sun's crazy Zelda speedruns: https://www.youtube.com/user/NintendoCapriSun
And I recently discovered NotECEC's Dark Souls work: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCKbVbfms7ZVLY4-Q98g1aA He also runs the Dark Soul Haters Tumblr here: http://darksoulshaters.tumblr.com/

Hahaha, I'm just going to sticky your DDrop Let's Play thread :D or you can. Link to your various online endeavors? I know you have like 10 different shows, so this is your chance to talk about them!

You can sticky it if you'd like! I feel that'd be a bit of an abuse of power if I did it.  :-[ I do have quite a few shows but a lot of them are just LPs.

A good Dark Souls Let's Player (sorta) people should tune into if they're into the lore is Vaati from Vaatividya: https://www.youtube.com/user/VaatiVidya

I've become a big fan of Vinesauce over the past few months, Vinny and Joel are my favorites, but Vinesauce is made up of a handful of streamers who are all pretty great, and at least a handful of them have streamed Dark Souls 1 and II in the past, Joel did a video of him playing it drunk which is bound to be fun, Fred's got a death reel of him vs. the Pursuer in DkSII which is a little cringy but an honest look into getting used to the goodness that is Dark Souls, and Rev has some early Dark Souls 1 gameplay, which you may relate to more closely since it's a lot of stuff you've already played/will soon be playing.

And of course following suit with Vasae, I also happen to know a guy who does streams and videos from time to time, including Dark Souls stuff. ;)

Awesome Games Done Quickly never fails to amaze. Aside from being super entertaining it also shows how total mastery over games can change the way they are played and how a good game can captivate people for decades. Also looking at non-glitch darksouls runs makes you feel like a real noob, trust me.

This channel always leaves me with a mixed emotion of happiness and confusion.

He's heavy on melancholy and parts of his lore are heavy self interpretation though.

I head he does stream as well. 18:00 UTC on monday, wednesday and friday, with irregular streams on saturday. Drop in an pester him long enough and he'll whip out Delver's Drop.

God, I miss those times new build plz

I think it really depends on your taste in games and your favorites. Lately I have been intrigued by the world of Halo Speedrunning and spend alot of time watching

MisterMonopoli

Nak3d_Eli

They both do Halo runs, and are really good and also hold several records.

I am a mod for Walshy at his channel-

And DansGaming is my go to for new games and entertainment!

A streamer (the only one I follow other than Pixelscopic) is the Classy Dicks. You can find them here. They're great people. http://www.twitch.tv/classydickstv/profile

I agree AGDQ is always fun to watch. Its amazing some of the tricks they discover plus their understanding of the games possibly surpasses that of the games developer.

Since I know some people here enjoy D&D and lore and all that I'm going to shamelessly promote a new series I've started where I talk about world building and myth building on my channel. Here's a link to the first "Episode". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbjR3g_rqik
